Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to have your child in my class this year. I am looking forward to working with you to ensure your child succeeds in their education and participation during their school day.
The learning skills focus for term one are Responsibility and Organization. These skills are important to establish to set your child up for success and for creating a culture of inquiry in the classroom.
Homework has traditionally been approximately 10 minutes of nightly practice per grade level. That would be about 20 minutes per night for grade two’s and 30 minutes per night for grade three’s. This includes activities such as regular reading as well. With family time already at a premium, you can decide what best suits your family’s schedule for completing homework by the due date.
I encourage you to articulate any concerns and feedback you have to me and I will ensure to communicate mine with you. The most effective way to initially inform me of a concern is to write a note in your child’s agenda. It would be greatly appreciated if you took the time the initial your child’s agenda and read whatever it is they have written on that day. The following morning I will stamp each student’s agenda while looking for any family communication.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation and support. Our partnership will go a long way in sending a positive message to your child. I am looking forward to a great school year!
Respectfully,
Samantha Rose
